OVERVIEW:

The project objective was to synthesize my experience of Rome during a study abroad program.

DESIGN RATIONALE:

I started and completed this project in three days, which was the fastest I have ever modeled, textured, and rendered something.

Inspiration was drawn from the mythological creatures and statues observed throughout the city. I created a mythological creature that represents the past, present, and future.

  • The wolf skull is the past; it appears cracked and weathered as it hovers above the present, gazing into the distance.

  • The humanoid eagle head is the present; its shallow eyes focus only a few steps ahead, and its surface is adorned with dirt, handprints, and growing vines.

  • The masked head is the future; with wide-open eyes and an unwavering gaze forward, it looms over both the past and present, whispering possibilities of what lies ahead.

  • The body of the creature integrates both organic and inorganic features, reflecting the vitality and architectural essence of the city. Its texture is inspired by the cobblestone streets, embellished with "S.P.Q.R." on its hind leg, reminiscent of the graffiti that connects the past with the present.
